The Hollinger Golf Club hosted its annual Ladies Field Day this past weekend on September 10th that saw a total of 136 golfers take part in the 2-Lady Scramble format.
With cloudy skies surrounding the course for the majority of the day, the field of 68 teams avoided any kind of precipitation and enjoyed a successful day on the course.
Rachel Kingsbury and Linda Trudel were crowned 2022 Ladies Field Day Champions with an impressive round of 71, one stroke ahead of runners up Kara Williston and Morgan Bonnah (72), and two strokes better than 3rd place finishers Norma Danis and Carmen Jacques (73).
When asked about the day, GM of Golf Operations Taylor Dupuis was very pleased with the outcome and had high praise for Northern Ontario’s ladies golf community;
“Not only is ladies golf alive and well here at the Hollinger but I think all over Northern Ontario, and today was a testament to that.”
“To see the support of participants and volunteers week after week and especially for this event, it’s certainly something to be proud of. The weather held up for us and it was a great day of golf and fun.”
The 2022 Ladies Field Day marked Hollinger’s final major event for the season, a year that saw thousands of golfers from all over come and compete at the Hollinger throughout the number of events hosted at the course.
“It’s been a very busy season but a very successful one to say the least. As staff, we’re going to take some time to digest our major events and look at what we can improve and what can be built upon further.”
